HONORS AND AWARDS
The School of St. Mark places great importance on excellence and achievement in scholastic performance, on the application of values and attitudes upheld by the school and in any active participation and outstanding leadership in schol activities. As learning community in continuous pursuit of excellence, SSM gives eash individual student equal opportunity to manifest distinction in particular curricular and extra-curricular domains through its COOPERATIVE HONOR SYSTEM.
QUARTERLY AWARDS
1. Academic Excellence Awards
First Honors Awards - given to ALL students with
- a general average of 95% or higher
- a grade of at least 90% in each subject
- no letter mark lower than B
Second Honors Awards - given to ALL students with
- a general average of 90% or higher
- a grade of at least 87% in each subject
- no letter mark lower than B
Honorable Mention Awards - giden to ALL students with
- a general average of 87% or higher
- a grade of at least 85% in each subject
- no letter mark lower than B
2. Subject Excellence Awards is given to ALL students with a grade of 95% or
- higher in the subject provided that
- marks in all subjects are passing
- deportment marks are B or higher.
**Disqualifications - any student who has incomplete and / or no grade (class stading, examination, final) for a subject or has taken a late quarterly examination for the subject without valid reason or cause is DISQUALIFIED from receiving a Quarterly Honors or Subject Excellence award.
ANNUAL AWARDS
FOR THE UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
1. Academic Excellence Awards
First Honors Awards - given to ALL students with a final average of 95% or higher provided that for four (4) quarters they have.
- a general average of 95% or higher
- a grade of at least 90% in each subject, and
- no letter mark lower than B
Second Honors Awards - given to ALL students with final general average of 90% or higher provided that for four (4) quarters they have
- a general average of 90% or higher
- a grade of at least 87% in each subject , and
- no letter mark lower than B
Honorable Mention Awards - giden to ALL students with final general average of 87% or higher provided that for four (4) quarters they have
- a general average of 87% or higher
- a grade of at least 85% in each subject , and
- no letter mark lower than B
2. Subject Excellence Awards
Given to ALL students with a final grade of 95% or higher in the subject provided that in all quarters their
- a general average of 95% or higher
- a grade of at least 90% in each subject, and
- no letter mark lower than B
3. Extra-Curricular Awards
Awards are given to deserving students for their outstanding performance as members of their extra-curricular activity. The awardee(s) for each activity is choosen on the basis of
- an extra-curricular mark of A in all quarters
- attendance, interest, and participation in the affairs of the club and leadership
- marks in all subjects are passing
- deportment marks of at least B in quarters
4. Deportment Awards
A Deportment Award is given to a student who for four (4) quarters has received a grade of A for a specific area / behavior under Personality and Character Development provided that
- marks in all subjects are passing
- no deportment mark lower than A- in any quarter
- mark in extra-curricular is at least B in all quarters.
FOR THE GRADUATING STUDENTS
(Grade Six and Fourth Year High School)
1. Most Oustanding Performance Awards
a. The General Average will be the basis for determining graduating honor students.
- For Grade School: The student must not have a grade lower than 80% and/or B- in any learning learning area and deportment in Grade 4 and 85% and/or B in any quarter in any learning area and in deportment during the last two years at SSM.
- For High School: The student must not have a grade lower than 80% and/or B- in any learning area and deportment in the first two curriculum years and 85% and/or B in any quarter in any subject and in deportment during the last two years at SSM.
b. The candidate must have done the entire work for the last two years at the SSM.
c. The student must have completed the curriculum within the prescribed number of years.
d. The candidate must be an active member of an existing authorized student organization or club during the last two years. in SSM.
e. The candidate must have conducted himself/herself in conformity with the standard, rules, regulations, and policies set by the school. Any candidate who has any record of immortalit, serious misbehavior, etc, will not be qualified for any award.

HIGH SCHOOL
1. Gold Medal of Excellence for the Valedictorian
2. Silver Medal of Excellence for the Salutatorian
3. Bronze Medal of Excellence for the Honorable Mention
GRADE SCHOOL
1. Gold Medal of Excellence for the First Honor
2. Silver Medal of Excellence for the Second Honor
3. Bronze Medal of Excellence for the Third Honor

The scholastic performance will be based on the general average of the grades of the graduating students in the last two years of their schooling - 50% from the previous level and 50% from the present level.
Character will be based on how the candidate himself / herself accordign to the rules, regulations and policies set by SSM specific under the Personality and Character Developement:
- Observing of School Rules
- Grooming
- Courteousness and Politeness
- Dependability
- Initiative and resourcefulness
- Helpfulness
Co-Curricular Activities will be based on the candidate's performance and achievements in all activities (at school division, regional, national and international), active participation in authorized student organizations or clubs, oustanding awards in recognition of the actualization of what has been learned from school, travels in relation to school work, and other cultural/civic activities.
To avaoid identical ranking of the candidates in scholastic and curricular activities, character and co-curricular activities, the average in these criteria will be computed up to the nearest hundredths, and in some cases, up to the thousandths.
2. Loyalty Awards
Loyalty medals are given to 4th year students who have studied in SSM for ten (10) consecutive years from Grade 1 to 4th year high school.
