CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

The educational program of the Cavite School of St. Mark takes into account the total formation of the learner. It gives equal importance to the different aspects of the person's growth and maturity: moral-spiritual, intellectual, psycho-emotional, socio-cultural and physical. The academic program enriches the minimum learning competencies required by the Department of Education through a formative and integrative curriculum that ensures a balanced and wholesome development for every learner.

The development of the different aspects in the academic program is enhanced in the different subjects as follows:

  1. Moral-spiritual: Values Education and in the other subjects as well.
  2. Intellectual: All subjects areas
  3. Psycho-emotional: Values Education Science and Health
  4. Socio-cultural: SIBIKA / HEKASI / Social Studies, Music, Art, Physical Education, Home Economics and Livelihood, and Scouting
  5. Physical: Science, Home Economics and Livelihood Education, and Scouting

The Cavite School of St. Mark implements and enriches the Restructed Basic Education Curriculum of the Department of Education. The Restructed Curriculum focuses on the basics of reading, writing, arithmetic, science and patriotism. Values are integral to all subject areas. Being a private educational institution its implementation is within the Philosophy of he School and geared towards the achievement and fulfillment of the Mission and Vision of the school.

In its efforts to develop students who could compete and face the challenges in the national and global scenario, Computer Education is offered from Nursery to 4th year high school. The school also continues to pursue a MATHEMATICS ORIENTED CURRICULUM in high school having required Elective subjects in Mathematics taught 60 minutes daily namely:

Year I - Business Mathematics
Year II - Statistics
Year III - Trigonometry
Year IV - Analytic Geometry and Introduction to Calculus

The learning areas in the grade school are as follows: English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Health and Makabayan. English is a learning area has two (2) components: Reading and Language. These are taught separately.

Makabayan as a learning area has the following components: For Grades 1-3: Sibika at Kultura, Computer and MAPES (Music, Art, Physical Education and Scouting). For Grades 4-6: HEKASI (Heograpiya, Kasaysayan at Sibika), HELE (Home Economics and LIvelihood Education) with Computer, and MAPES (Music, Art, Physical Education and Scouting).

The learning areas for high school are English, Mathematics, Science, Filipino, Elective and Makabayan.
