SSC conducts emergency outreach for fire victims in Maliksi

On June 20, 2018, a fire engulfed about 300 homes in Barangay Maliksi 1, Bacoor City, Cavite, left families homeless. An outreach program was carried out by the Supreme Student Council that aimed to help the victims.

The Supreme Student Council (SSC)conducted the outreach program on June 26, 2018, Tuesday, until June 29, 2018, Friday. Hundreds of clothes and several goods were given from Grade School up to Senior High School. According to Mr. Karl Emmanuel Salimo, President of the High School Supreme Student Council (HSSC), The program was successful and helped many families of Maliksi I.

There were no casualties recorded. However, 300 houses were affected by the fire incident. 348 families were in need for clothing and other necessities, so as a part of the community, the students of CSSM were encouraged to donate their used clothes.

The Supreme Student Council gave honor to the sections of Ifugao, Negritos, and Bontoc for being deemed the sections with the most amount of donated clothes and were ultimately entitled as the “most generous” sections. Overall, the SSC acknowledged the effort and help given by the students in the Morning Assembly held on July 2, 2018.

The victims of Maliksi I fire are now standing and rebuilding their foundation thanks to the generosity of the students. The success of the event continued to encourage the community the value of giving. Ω
