We are thrilled to announce an exciting development in our Grade School curriculum: beginning School Year 2025–2026, our students from Grades 1 to 6 will be participating in a revitalized instrumental music program. This initiative is being made possible through a meaningful partnership with Zion's Praise Music Inc., and reflects our school’s unwavering commitment to holistic education.
The Value of Music in Education
Music has long been recognized as a powerful tool in child development. Beyond learning notes and rhythms, students gain improved memory, concentration, motor skills, and even better performance in math and language. Music nurtures discipline, enhances creativity, and fosters emotional intelligence—all essential traits for well-rounded learners.
Instrumental training also provides a joyful, expressive outlet that builds confidence, relieves stress, and brings students together through shared experiences.
Instrument Choices: Ukulele, Guitar, Piano, or Drums
To cater to different interests and learning styles, students will be given the opportunity to choose among four instruments for their training:
🎸 Ukulele – ideal for young beginners, with its compact size and simple chords
🎹 Piano – a foundational instrument that enhances musical theory and coordination
🥁 Drums – perfect for active learners who thrive on rhythm and movement
🎶 Guitar – a versatile instrument that bridges melody and rhythm
Each instrument offers unique learning benefits, and all will be taught by trained music educators from Zion’s Praise Music Inc. This ensures that no matter which instrument a child chooses, they will receive quality instruction tailored to their level.
A Thoughtful Program Shift
This new instrumental program will replace the current Grade School Robotics program, which we have determined to be better suited for the High School level. Robotics will continue to be explored in more depth during the High School years, where students can better handle its complexity and technical requirements.
Meanwhile, in Junior High School, the music program will remain as an elective, offering the same subjects currently in place for those who wish to pursue further musical development.
No Additional Tuition Charges
We are pleased to share that this program will not incur additional tuition fees for SY 2025–2026. Only learning materials, such as instrument units and student workbooks, will be charged as needed.
A Return to Our Roots
This is more than just a curriculum update—it is a revival. A few years ago, our school launched a similar instrumental program that had to be put on hold due to the pandemic. We are now ready to bring it back, stronger and more inclusive than ever, thanks to the support of Zion’s Praise Music Inc.
By School Year 2026–2027, this program will expand to benefit the entire student body, including High School. We believe this will bring not just music, but also joy, discipline, and inspiration back into our school culture.
We are excited to hear our students create music once again—and we look forward to the many talents that will be discovered and nurtured through this program.
